What is covered?

Examination, satisfaction of justified and defense against unjustified liability claims brought against the policyholder as a private individual. Covered, among other things, are damages you cause:

  • as a participant in road traffic (pedestrian/cyclist)
  • while engaging in sport
  • when using your own or a third party's watercraft without sail/motor/propulsion unit (inflatable, rowing, paddle boats)
  • as the keeper/custodian of tame domestic pets (e.g. cats, birds), tamed small animals (e.g. hamsters), and bees
  • as the occupant of an apartment/house (Basis: single-family home, domestic only; Premium: one-/two-family home, Europe; Superior: one-/two-/multi-family home, Europe) – regardless of whether you rent or own
  • Also covered: statutory liability arising from the private use of motorized/propulsion-driven aircraft subject to insurance requirements (e.g. model aircraft, multicopters, drones) up to 250 g take-off mass (Basis/Premium) or up to 5 kg (Superior), provided used for sport/recreational purposes
  • Cover also extends to additional persons (e.g. spouse/partner, children)

From Premium additionally: a prescribed assistance dog and wild small animals kept in the household (e.g. spiders, geckos, snakes); loss of third-party keys; damage to furnishings/fittings in holiday accommodation (e.g. furniture, crockery).

Superior additionally: loss of keys, explicitly including keycards, safe, locker, furniture, vehicle keys, and other types of keys.

The specific insured items/risks/damages as well as the sum insured must, per the IPID, be taken from the individual contract documents (insurance certificate) – not quantified in the IPID itself.

Which tariffs and prices are available?
