What is covered?

Modular motor insurance components for collector's vehicles, selectable individually:

  • Motor third-party liability insurance (Kfz-Haftpflichtversicherung): pays out for damage caused to third parties by the insured vehicle; settles justified claims and defends against unjustified ones.
  • Partial comprehensive cover (Teilkasko): covers damage to the insured's own vehicle, e.g. from theft, hail, storm, glass breakage.
  • Fully comprehensive cover (Vollkasko): in addition to Teilkasko, also covers damage from vandalism or accidents.
  • VollkaskoPlus: in addition to Teilkasko and Vollkasko, further damage occurring while operating the vehicle.
  • Roadside assistance cover (Autoschutzbrief): organisational and financial help in the event of a breakdown or accident.
  • Driver protection insurance (Fahrerschutzversicherung): covers the driver's personal injury from an accident while driving.
  • Motor environmental damage insurance (Kfz-Umweltschadenversicherung): protects against public-law claims under the Environmental Damage Act (Umweltschadensgesetz).

Which tariffs and prices are available?

  • Per the product page (as of July 2026), OCC offers motor insurance for collector's vehicles in three packages: Basis (Teilkasko with third-party liability), Komfort (Vollkasko, the most-chosen package) and Premium (VollkaskoPlus).
  • The amount of the sum insured per claim event is not stated in the PDF – it follows from the individual insurance application or policy.
  • No premium amounts/price tables are included in the document or on the product page; the premium is determined individually via the online calculator (this is a pure product information document, not a tariff-calculator extract).
  • Payment frequency: monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual, as agreed; payment by bank transfer or direct debit.

What is not covered?

Exclusions apply per component:

  • Motor third-party liability (Kfz-Haftpflicht): damage to the insured's own vehicle.
  • Partial comprehensive cover (Teilkasko): damage to the insured's own vehicle from an accident.
  • Fully comprehensive cover (Vollkasko): damage from wear and tear.
  • VollkaskoPlus: damage to the engine/gearbox from operator error; damage from wear and tear.
  • Roadside assistance cover (Autoschutzbrief): vehicle repairs beyond breakdown assistance.
  • Motor accident insurance (Kfz-Unfallversicherung) (if co-insured): medical treatment costs and pain-and-suffering compensation.
  • Driver protection insurance (Fahrerschutzversicherung): claims to the extent that another party is liable for the damage.
  • Motor environmental damage insurance (Kfz-Umweltschadenversicherung): claims that can also be asserted without recourse to the Environmental Damage Act.

General coverage exclusions:

  • Intentionally caused damage.
  • Damage occurring during participation in certain motorsport events or activities, including races.
  • Damage to cargo/load.

Which deductibles and waiting periods apply?

  • The information document does not state specific deductible amounts or waiting periods (standard practice for motor insurance, which has no waiting period; the deductible is set out in the individual contract/application).
  • Premium due date: the first/one-off premium is due immediately after two weeks have passed from receipt of the policy, or on the agreed payment date.
  • Cover begins at the point in time stated in the policy, provided the first premium was paid on time and in full (provisional cover converts into final cover).

  • Territorial scope: the geographic boundaries of Europe as well as non-European EU territories; with the International Motor Insurance Card, also further non-European countries listed on the card (where not crossed out), for motor third-party liability.
  • Contract term/termination: the contract runs for the agreed initial term, then renews automatically for one year at a time unless terminated. Notice period: 1 month before the end of the insurance year. Early termination possible under certain conditions (e.g. after a claim).
  • Policyholder's obligations: truthful/complete information in the application, timely premium payment, notification of changes in risk, prompt claims notification with complete details, duty to mitigate loss, no driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving only with the required licence.
  • Requirements per the product page (as of July 2026): the vehicle must be in well-maintained condition (condition grade 3 or better); maximum annual mileage under 12,000 km; a covered parking space (garage/carport) is required; an unrestricted everyday vehicle must be available; an "H" historic-vehicle number plate is not required.
