What is covered?
This is a pet health insurance for dogs; it protects against the financial consequences of illness-related costs following an insured event. The product bundles two components:
- Dog health insurance: veterinary-medically necessary treatment of the dog due to a health impairment and/or surgery, or as a result of an accident.
- Dog surgery insurance: veterinary-medically necessary treatment due to surgery.
Veterinary costs incurred are reimbursed on the basis of the agreed maximum rate of the German veterinary fee schedule (GOT).
Covered items include, for example:
- Surgeries, including the pre-operative examination that leads to the diagnosis
- Pre- and post-treatment following an insured surgery
- In the dog health insurance additionally: medical treatment, laboratory and imaging diagnostics, medically necessary medication
Which tariffs and prices are available?
Reimbursement is made up to the agreed maximum sum insured, based on the agreed maximum GOT rate. The IPID does not state specific amounts, tariff tiers or prices — details per the product page (as of: July 2026):
| Tariff | Price from | Max. annual benefit | GOT rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basis | €23.99/month | €3,000 | 3x |
| Rundum | €31.19/month | €10,000 | 4x |
| Rundum Plus | €32.99/month (marked "Popular") | unlimited | 4x |
- Optional prevention module: from an extra €12.50/month, €250 annual budget for neutering, vaccinations, dental prophylaxis, behavioral therapy and microchip costs.
- Included free of charge: video vet consultation (Pfotendoctor) and a Tractive GPS and health tracker.
What is not covered?
Not covered, among other things:
- Examinations, treatments and surgeries already known before contract conclusion, or already begun or veterinary-recommended beforehand
- Consequences of illnesses and/or accidents, or their examination, treatment or surgery (including related diagnostics and pre-/post-treatment), arising after the contract has ended
- Consequences of defects and illnesses known at the time the policy was taken out, or occurring before expiry of the respective waiting period
Coverage restrictions: war, earthquake and flood, epidemics and pandemics, damage caused intentionally.
Which deductibles and waiting periods apply?
The IPID does not state specific deductible amounts or waiting-period terms (only the general exclusion of "illnesses occurring before expiry of the respective waiting period" — see policy conditions for details). The product page (as of: July 2026) states the following specific waiting periods:
- General waiting period: 30 days
- Breed-typical illnesses and specific surgeries: 6 months
- Accidents: no waiting period, covered from day 1
- The product page likewise gives no fixed deductible amount; preventive-care benefits are reimbursed without deduction.
Further deadlines per the IPID:
- Cancellation by the customer: with 14 days' notice to the end of the month
- A contract term of at least one year automatically renews for a further year if not cancelled in time
- Cover abroad: 12 months (per the product page: worldwide cover abroad, maximum 12 months)
What else is important?
- Risk carrier (verified): Uelzener Allgemeine Versicherungs-Gesellschaft a.G., Germany — confirmed for this product.
- Territorial scope: coverage within the Federal Republic of Germany; abroad, the dog is covered for 12 months.
- Policyholder obligations: answer application questions completely and truthfully; pay premiums on time and in full; carry out vet-recommended vaccination and preventive-care measures; provide complete and truthful information in the event of a claim.
- Premium payment generally by direct debit (SEPA mandate), monthly or annually as agreed.
- Cancellation is also possible by the insurer, e.g. after a settled claim or upon final elimination of the insured risk (e.g. permanently giving up the dog) — the contract then ends before the agreed term expires.
- The direct-purchase link leads to the Cleos Welt "rundum_plus" tariff; the product page confirms "Rundum Plus" as a standalone tariff tier marked "Popular", alongside "Basis" and "Rundum" (see table above).
