- Search/rescue/recovery operations: €1.5 million
- For "smaller" animals (snakes, spiders, frogs, birds): up to 200 animals can be insured.
- For "larger" animals (alpacas, donkeys, wild goats, sheep, cats): a maximum of 5 animals can be insured; for herds of more than 5 animals, Cleos Welt recommends a separate commercial/business liability insurance (not covered by this product).
What is not covered?
- Animals subject to a keeping ban – damage caused by these animals is excluded (no cover despite insurance).
- Herds of more than 5 "larger" animals (see above) – currently cannot be covered.
- Per the FAQ, depending on the personal liability policy, additional restrictions may apply to wild animals or animals above a certain weight/size; venomous animals may be excluded there regardless of toxicity level (note only – not a statement about exclusions of this Cleos Welt product itself).
- No general IPID exclusion list (war, intent, etc.) is included in the document – unlike the two official IPIDs.
Which deductibles and waiting periods apply?
- No information given in the document.
What else is important?
- Proof for authorities is provided directly after the contract is concluded; for special official documents, contact support@cleos.de.
- Examples of claims per the FAQ: an escaped venomous spider (search costs), a snake bite during a teaching demonstration (personal injury), a kick from an alpaca during a hike (personal injury), a scratch injury caused by a Bengal cat (property damage).
- Alpacas/donkeys and similar animals can sometimes also be insured under a horse owner's liability policy (usually only after consultation, noted in the policy); the liability risk for horses is generally higher/more expensive than for alpacas/donkeys.
